BIOGRAPHY

Dixon Wallace McMakin is a 2013 graduate of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU and is the managing member of The McMakin Law Firm, PLLC which specializes in estate planning.

 While in Law School, Dixon served as Executive Treasurer of the Student Bar Association, was a Semi-Finalist for the Chancellor’s Cup Senior Appellate Challenge and was the Commissioner of the LSU Law Football Club helping raise over $25,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Dixon is an active member in the Baton Rouge and Southeast Louisiana community. He is a Past President of Le Cercle de Bacchus, a parishioner and lector at St. Aloysius Parish Church, a Boys and Girls Club of Baton Rouge Mentor, crewmember of the New Orleans Krewe of Endymion, Philanthropy Chair for Forum 35’s Uncorked and is a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, Catholic High School Men’s Club, First Degree with the Knights of Columbus Council 3743, Foundation for Historical Louisiana, Friend of the Louisiana State Archives, Kappa Sigma Alumni, Louisiana State Bar Association, Louisiana Notary Association, LSU Law Chancellor’s Club and Omicron Delta Kappa Alumni

Dixon is also a registered representative with LPL Financial, a registered investment advisor, Member FINRA/SIPC.  He currently holds his FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses. He also holds his Life, Health and Accident Insurance license with the State of Louisiana Department of Insurance.

Dixon is a 2009 graduate of Louisiana State University (LSU) with a Bachelor of General Studies. He continued his education at LSU where he obtained his Masters of Business Administration in 2013 from the E.J. Ourso College of Business Flores MBA Program.

Dixon resides in Baton Rouge and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
